NEMESIS
There are many who feel that we are approaching a Constitutional crisis. Interestingly enough, the expert Constitutional legal minds of both political Parties agree that Bush has gone beyond his office and that he should be impeached.
Right now it is a murmur but it may soon become too loud to ignore. Also, there are still many positive Repug voices clamoring that Bush has only done what is necessary to protect the country. That fear-spin is still in high gear.
But the Dem natives are getting very restless. Many have become increasingly unhappy with the inability of the newly elected Dem majority to bring the troops back from Iraq. They fear that Bush will invade/attack Iran before he leaves office.
But stop and think, please. What if the Dems did stand up to Bush as you want them to? What if they refused to fund the war and demanded that the troops leave Iraq knowing that there is sufficient time for orderly withdrawal as there are plenty of funds in the pipeline?
We think, with his usual disregard for troop safety, Bush would just stop supplying them, claiming that Congress had cut off funds for the troops. There would be many dead and injured and the Dems would be blamed for it. Realize this – Bush will sell out the lives of the troops, our economy and every one of us before he backs down or listens to reason or the electorate.
Recently the Dems have become disturbingly adamant that Congress do something or else. There are those who declare that the crimes of the Bush administration are so obvious that when the Dem majority does not act it means it is in collusion with the Repugs to keep the extended, dictatorial powers of the presidency Bush has instigated.
There is little disagreement that Iraq is a quagmire now as the proof comes daily in the form of bombs and flag draped coffins. It is also becoming apparent that we just cannot pull our troops out at once without instigating a blood bath.
Who can forget the spectacle of our Viet Nam retreat as our people were hurriedly evacuated under the guns of the VC? Despite this there are those who think all we have to do is leave and the Iraqi populace will bring the departing troops candy and bon voyage flowers. Does that remind anyone of what was promised when Bush invaded Iraq?
There is talk of supporting a third Party or even not voting at all. Hopefully these are mostly from the lunatic fringe and not representative of the rank and file. But the fact remains that if this attitude gains converts it can put the much needed change of administration in jeopardy as well as hopes of increasing the slim Dem majority in Congress.
As was said by Benjamin Franklin as he signed the Declaration of Independence, "We must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."
Good advice. The many ways justice and the Constitution have been thwarted cannot continue but getting pissed off, accusing our representatives of treason and opting out of the process will just insure that we will all hang separately.

MAGNIFICENT DECEPTION
Here come the Repugs all fired up to rub Dem’s noses in their failed efforts to please the American voter. And as these seasoned political-savy, no-holes-barred Senators and Representatives proceed they know they can count on their cheering gallery to be the grass roots Democrats.
Not too long ago there was an election and the people declared they wanted out of the Iraq war pronto. The Dems won the majority, albeit slim, in both Houses of Congress. They worked hard to bring home the troops but every effort was countered by the Repugs.
They could pass a bill but could not override the Bush veto so the end result has been that the war is no nearer to ending because of what Dems were able to do, and they have been pummeled by their own supporters.
This week the Dems tried again to force the people to see that they were still trying to do what they were elected to do. They pulled an all-nighter in the Senate to show the country how the Repugs were preventing a vote on a bill that would bring home the troops. The Repugs made their glorious speeches about how they wanted the troops to come home too. They accused the Dems of “grandstanding” and “neglecting the nation’s business”. Then they prevented the vote.
As usual, most of the media supported the Repugs and ridiculed the Dems. Another round to the Repugs! Street fighters always win over those fighting by Marquis of Queensberry rules when the referee is the media.
Now the Repug leadership knows how the voters feel and is taking advantage of this criticism. They are putting forth watered-down legislation and amendments to get the troops out of Iraq, that Bush will be sure to allow passage of. Then they will have the Dems over a barrel. Either they go along with the Repug amendments or else! Whatever they do they are fracked.
If they vote against the Repug bill, because of certain items which may contain provisions for leaving many troops and prolonging the war, the Dems will be blamed for preventing the withdrawal.
If they vote for it, the Repugs will get the credit for doing the people’s will. They will mask the provisions in their bill that will prolong the war and present it in the best possible light. The media will assist them in hoodwinking the American people into thinking the minority Repugs did what the majority Dems COULD NOT AND WOULD NOT DO.
When the Dem legislators cry foul, the Repugs will call them poor sports and bad losers who really cared little for the troops or they would have done something. After all, they were the majority.
And the screaming masses of Left-wingers who have bitterly assailed the Democrats will be so consumed by their own hatred that they will be blinded to the truth. Another round to the Repugs!
Democrats should take lessons from Red Sox fans.

THE WAR AGAINST WOMEN - PART 3
Promises, promises – earnestly given but never fulfilled. That is the story and the strength of the Repug politicians and, to our horror, the track record so far of the Bush appointments to the Supreme Court.
Remember how Roberts and ScAleto both swore to uphold “established law”? Law that had withstood the test of time and been confirmed by several courts? Laws like those that had concern for the health of women?
Well you can forgetaboutit. But don’t forget to remember that Bush could still be picking one or more new justices. Scary isn’t it and don’t think the Dem majority in Congress will stop it. The Repug members of Congress and the media will manage to slip in still another justice who promises fairness but delivers only to Bush
Surely you’ve noticed that as more and more Repugs SAY they want the war to end and the troops brought home, when it comes to a vote they stick like glue to Bush. The media tells us that more and more of them are “peeling off” but we must understand that this is only for the consumption of their voters. If they are reelected they will go right back to promising but never delivering.
And if you are anticipating that the voters will elect a Dem Congress in ’08 with a large majority, gird your loins and whatever sanity you possess. Bush has already proclaimed that if there is anything that HE THINKS WARRANTS IT he will declare martial law. There will be no election in ’08. He will just continue to reign unopposed.
President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted near dictatorial powers to the office of the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president.

If Congress opposes this move, Bush will simply abolish Congress, and the Supreme Court will back him up. He has always ignored The Constitution, Congress and the American people – don’t think he won’t continue just as he has ignored the law with signing statements, refusal to cooperate in oversight and illegal wire tapping, for example.
Religious Fundamentalists already organized and in place will determine and enforce edicts relating to many things. Women’s clothing will be affected as will their civil and reproductive rights including education and employment. If this sounds a bit like the way Muslims govern women, deal with it.

THE WAR AGAINST WOMEN - PART 2
“Land, like woman, was meant to be possessed.” was in our textbooks only a short time ago. Since then laws have been passed inferring that woman is equal to man, but that concept has not caught up to the reality that our culture does not support this.
“Who gives this woman to this man in marriage?” is still heard in the land although it is argued to be mostly ceremonial. It is just another way women are trained to submit, using cake and fluffy gowns to mask the whips.
However, the facts belie perceived or legalized woman’s equality and one need only see how differently little girls are raised compared to little boys. One need only note how things considered male are deemed important and revered while things considered female are trivialized and derogated.
Not so different from the rest of the world as Marilyn French reports in her book, The War Against Women. The back cover blurb reads: “In this stunning work of research, Ms French creates a devastating portrait of today’s male-dominated global society with its underlying aim of destroying, subjugating or mutilating women.”

And she’s not the only one. In an article titled A Menacing Tide Against Women Who Speak Their Minds [ref. below] Andrea Otanez writes, “The glorious Internet offers us more ways than ever to triangulate the truth and then opine about it on our favorite blog. But, oh my, the inglorious invective that pockmarks those virtual town squares. In the past week, I’ve read that retired anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan is an “opportunistic idiot.” Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a “feminist twit.” And that Lilly Ledbetter deserved the lower pay she got from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. because she wasn’t smart enough to prove earlier in her career that she was earning less than her male counterparts.”

Margaret Thatcher was una bella gnocca, a "great piece of pussy", Silvio Berlusconi declared this week, eulogising his ideological heroine as he lashed out at Romano Prodi's government.
Women aren’t the only observers of causation. Mark Dery writes in The Hidden Costs of America’s Hypermasculine Culture:
“Doesn't all this chest-thumping machismo and locker-room homophobia protest a little too much? Paging Dr. Freud, pink courtesy phone: What can we say about a country so anxiously hypermasculine that it can give rise to Godmen, a muscular-Christianity movement that seeks to lure Real Men back to church with services that feature guys bending metal wrenches with their bare hands and leaders exulting, "Thank you, Lord, for our testosterone! The trouble with manhood, American-style, is that it is maintained at the expense of every man's feminine side -- the frantically repressed Inner Wussy -- and the demonization of the feminine and the gay wherever we see them. http://www.alternet.org/story/51626
Meanwhile the war goes on totally beneath the radar of the media. Courts may issue restraining orders against abusive and potential murderous men but they are mostly ignored. Women have learned to either lives battered by their companion or seek help from other women.
So as the emphasis on the public discourse is “insisting on battering-ram stiffness (stay the course! don't pull out!) as the truest mark of manhood”, women hear the implied threat of rape loud and clear right from the top.
To counter this stand are community organizations such as Women Helping Battered Women. The people in this group put their lives on the line 24/7. They provide a safe haven for these battered women and their children and in doing so incur the wrath of the batterer. They are heroes just as are the military fighting in Iraq.
But the counter force is stronger; tradition trumps equality in law. Steroids and Viagra intensify the hormonal and societal control over the minds of men. Profit on these drugs blind our corporate controlled media to the ever burgeoning war against women.

THE STEALTH WAR AGAINST WOMEN - PART 1

This week cable and network news was immersed in a terrible tragedy – a woman and her soon to be born child went missing. Many people turned out to hunt for her in vain. She had been murdered and buried by her significant other – the father of her one born and one unborn children.
Most media reported the gruesome details ad nauseum. We heard only one commentator, Keith Olbermann, who actually took the trouble to research and tie in this murder with others where a woman and child in utero were killed by the father. Most reporters just kept the lid tightly on the burgeoning global war against women – continuing the stealth.
The recent Ohio murderer was not a criminal – he was a policeman, in a profession where violence is rampant. Law enforcement is a very similar occupation to the military in organization and male hierocracy.
In nearly every locality the rise of violence against women has occurred, been reported and dealt with by the authorities. The males committing the violence have various occupations, standards of living and cultures. The violence may be mental and physical cruelty, rape as well as physical restraints and murder.
What they all share is the certainty that society supports the premise that men are allowed to control women using whatever means they have to. Many times religious teachings that males are given this role by God form the basis for their actions.
So one might not be surprised to learn that rape and/or forced sexual contact is rampant in the military, from its schools to the battlefield and that the women they rape are their comrades in arms.
There is agreement that the greatest reason for this uncontrolled travesty is the indoctrination given recruits which can be summed up as obeying orders from superiors without question. Then the force of the pack chimes in with “keep your mouth shut or something worse will happen to you.”
If deemed necessary, a raped woman is told that if she complains it reflects on the U. S. military that she has sworn not to dishonor. Further coercion is waiting in the form of a dishonorable discharge for lying.
So the rapes continue in academies, in training and in battle. Stealthy as the torture at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo while our valiant media mavens track every burp, fart and breath of Paris Hilton.

When prosecution does result, almost all the accused perpetrators walk away free. A study by the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense measured conviction rates for rapes reported to military criminal investigation offices in 1994-96. "Another startling fact is that over 95 percent of the accused rapists in the Navy and Marines in 1992 were found not guilty of the alleged rapes and not convicted of the crimes," Nelson writes.

Many suffer in silent shame. But even worse, when women report attacks by fellow soldiers, the official response by military authorities is often less than supportive. When prosecution does result, almost all the accused perpetrators walk away free. A study by the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense measured conviction rates for rapes reported to military criminal investigation offices in 1994-96. "Another startling fact is that over 95 percent of the accused rapists in the Navy and Marines in 1992 were found not guilty of the alleged rapes and not convicted of the crimes," Nelson writes.

“WISDOM BORN OF PAIN”
We continue to be disappointed in the offerings of Air America Radio – there are so few Liberal outlets that many of us depend on it, perhaps too much. Tune your radio dial to AM or FM and you’ll find plenty of Conservative Talk but now in many areas one can only get AAR by paying extra for XM or on line.
Since its inception, we have come to expect a certain quality of Liberal Talk on AAR and instead find someone like Lionel who if he doesn’t throw you off by his topics and self love, his whiney voice will surely cause you to wonder why you even listen to him. Thankfully there is still Laura Flanders, Thom Hartman and Rachel Maddow left of the formerly excellent team!
But our biggest disappointment is the way Randi Rhodes, who has risen to stardom with a large following, deprecates her own gender. Her talent is undeniable but over and over again she criticizes someone in the media for something and then does the same thing herself.
She claims she is not taking sides in the primary yet never wastes an opportunity to show that she is not only anti-female but decidedly anti-Clinton. Commenting on what most others have reported to be stellar debate performances by Senator Clinton, Randy agrees and apropos of nothing tells us what kind of undergarment Clinton wears.
She never hides her lust for Senator Obama and lately she has transferred some of it to Al Gore as she touts a Gore/Obama ticket which she salivates over and avows is “hot, hot, hot!”. And in the next breath she is castigating Chris Matthews for asking his panel if Fred Thompson is sexy enough to attract women.
Avidly against discrimination for race, sexual preference or religion, she none the less never notices the discrimination against women, even contributing to it herself. She is steeped and erudite in political history but has never lived or sensed women’s struggles for equality and seemingly has no idea how her comments reflect on other women.
In a recent Doonsbury cartoon a young girl asks her mother, “Were you ever a feminazi?” It eloquently points up the fact that the past and more recent women’s history demands further action from all of us. We must accept and support fully qualified women who dare to further expand the horizons of our daughters. No Liberal woman should be lending her widespread, vocal support to the vicious "anyone but Hillary" campaign.
We would never tell Randi who to vote for but she is a woman of considerable influence over a large audience and should not be hurting other women with her sexist agenda. We do ask that while she is chastising FOX for not being fair and balanced, she apply the same standards to herself. And, when she has a minute or two, to read some biogs of women whose sacrifice and bravery contributed to the position she now holds in broadcasting.

SPITBALL COMEDY

SPITBALL COMEDY
A small miracle happened this week that should contain a lesson for any of us willing to learn from it. Fans of “Jericho” were reported to have “slammed CBS with protests over its cancellation” and won the battle. The network announced that Jericho would return next season.
In a letter to fans, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler wrote, “Wow! Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.”
What if those of us who are continually discouraged by the so-called news/opinion programs slammed the networks in like manner? The excuse given by the network is always the same – you, the public, demand it.
Just for a start, why not demand that MSNBC label “Hard Ball” as a comedy show and Chris Matthews as the Joker? Also, it should be more aptly named “Spitball” according to those who have had the misfortune to sit across from legendary spitter Chris. Face masks and towels are de rigor.
Just last week the Joker devoted nearly his whole hour of the Spit parade to Paris Hilton on one day and to Ben Afflick on another day.
Of course Hilton has nothing whatever to do with politics but she does portray neurotic and female in an impressive package. It was obviously a subliminal play in Chris’s fervent campaign of programming the electorate to prevent a woman from becoming president.
Afflick was there raving about Barac Obama. Ben provided eye candy for susceptible women who need to have someone tell them who to vote for. Chris spent quite a bit of time credentialing Ben as an astute commentator of the political scene. Reasoning? He’s an actor; Reagan was an actor – don’t need a laugh track for that one.
Both days Hillary Clinton was bashed as usual. Chris as always took his cue from the Republican/Faux play book, insisting that she was polarizing, unpopular and would lose the election for the Democrats with his guests agreeing agreeably.
How funny that was. Remember how John Kerry was touted as the one candidate who could win, first by Faux News then parroted by the rest of the media sheep to Democrats?
The comedy continued on still another day as the finale of “The Sopranos” was dissected by Chris and his sycophants. Belly laughs all around.
Chris was nearly reduced to tears as he sobbed about how he loved the way “the wife” stood by Tony in spite of everything – family staying together was so important. How droll that he fails to recall how he castigated Hillary Clinton for doing the same thing only a few years ago.

POWER UP!
Have you ever wondered why things are not improving even though it seems everyone is aware that there are problems? Why does the killing in Iraq continue to continue? Why does the military allow their own soldiers to be repeatedly raped in their academies, on bases and in war zones?
Why are women’s and minorities’ hard won rights falling victim to a merciless Supreme Court? Is it OK with you that the Democrats in Congress are trashed by all the media - even Air America and other Liberal broadcasts? Certainly they should know better how the system works. Majorities do not mean mandates.
This terrible stuff has been going on for some time now seemingly without anyone caring very much. It appears that all our people want is free prescription drugs, free beer, 24/7 sports and many juicy scandals involving scantily draped women.
Don’t speak up, don’t agitate for a free media and above all, don’t think about it. Bush might let you get blown up by el Qaeda or send you for a tropical vacation in Gitmo instead of protecting you.
It is so true that there is much to fear and it is difficult to understand why our leaders allow the menace of the Bushies to continue unabated. It is difficult because the power to do anything does not come from the Congress or the Senate.
The power is us - we the people and we the people are mostly sitting on our asses, complaining bitterly about gas prices and worrying about who will win the latest fake star contest.
The thing is that the Rychus ones keep throwing it in our faces and we are so used to it that we think it’s OK and normal. We are brainwashed to blame everyone but ourselves.
That is somewhat understandable since our education system tends to turn out carbon copies and individual thought is frowned upon. Still we find it difficult to understand why more do not see the danger in the Republican debates.
10 white males who believe they deserve to be president by virtue of their color, religion and gender, openly appeal to the masses conditioned to what a president should look like.
Why do so many of us fail to see the huge sign floating above them reading: “THE WHITE, CHRISTIAN, MALE POWER STRUCTURE MUST BE PROTECTED from Obomanation, and from a white, spiritual, female who would change the whole fabric of this country.”

AS THE TWIG IS BENT
TV movies around Memorial Day featured war. We watched “PT 109” again, a story of the bravery of a rich man’s son in the time of war. It was about his dedication to his men and his willingness to serve his country.
Contrast this with another rich man’s son who donned the accoutrements of battle dress and played with airplanes between bouts of self aggrandizement and physical gratification. He used his daddy’s influence to avoid being sent to any battle zone by joining the National Guard, where he distinguished himself by going AWOL, abusing drugs and alcohol.
What a difference between young Kennedy and Bush, but the seeds of their character as young men foretold what kind of a man and president each would become. This was also true also of a poor woman’s son whose hero was President Kennedy.
This young man devoted his life to learning. He wanted to make a difference in the world; bring people together and remove the causes of hatred and war.
He neither joined nor served in the military. He was a Rhodes Scholar with a penchant for understanding the world and was gifted with the silver tongue of an orator. At no time was the world so positively impressed with the United States than during his presidency.
He left office with a booming economy and a huge surplus in the treasury. He came very near to establishing peace between Israel and Palestine. He worked to keep and add to the benefits for the poor and disadvantaged; he strived to reduce and eliminate discrimination in race, gender and sexual orientation. He supported a woman’s right to choose.
He did all this while under attack by Republicans who harassed and impeded him, his administration and his family. The shear viciousness of their attack would have destroyed a lesser man, but Clinton not only withstood it, he proved them and their hatchet man, Ken Star, wrong.
The American people gave him high ratings even after he was impeached. After he finished his two terms in office, he traveled the world – all this time his great talents went mostly unused as Bush’s ego could not stand to put him in any position to help this country. What a tragic waste.
Hopefully this will be changed in the future when he can serve an administration dedicated to bringing America back into the world of responsibility and caring. Always, he has been an unofficial Ambassador-at-Large, now there is a good chance the title will become official.

CAN WE OVERCOME?
The Bush administration has not been a good showcase for women. With few exceptions, most of the women who are seen or heard on the news are badly failing their potential. It seems Bush has almost a maniacal eagerness to put forth or appoint women whose flaws reflect his.
When Condi Rice was appointed as Secretary of State there was a collective shudder from the many who remember she was responsible for bringing Bush the news that America would be attacked by airplane bombs.
Run the table of Bush women appointments to cabinet and other important posts. Whether the fracas over the ill fated nomination of Harriet Mier or the present fracas involving the fall out from Gonzo-gate, now focusing on his aide, Monica Goodling; Republican women in politics are getting a black eye.
Monica Goodling, who worked in the Justice Department for the last five years, submitted a letter of resignation effective April 7 when Gonzo-gate heated up. Rather than testifying, she claimed her 5th Amendment privilege.
That bought her free pass along with a subpoena. Her performance before the Senate committee made every woman who has ever fought for a decent professional position wince; “What on earth is a silly girl-child doing in such an important job?”
In spite of all the scandals of the Bushie women, it is of great comfort to note that for the first time the Speaker of the House is a woman, Nancy Pelosi; decidedly NOT part of the Bush administration but still taking a lot of heat.
In the Senate, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein chair important committees and other women are rising up the ladder of leadership. Hillary Clinton, as we all know is a front runner in the presidential race.
Despite the efforts of women in the Democratic leadership, the media is screaming that the Dems caved in to Bush and broke their promise to the electorate that they would end the Iraq occupation.

When Condi Rice was appointed as Secretary of State there was a collective shudder from the many who remember she was responsible for bringing Bush the news that America would be attacked by airplane bombs.
Run the table of Bush women appointments to cabinet and other important posts. Whether the fracas over the ill fated nomination of Harriet Mier or the present fracas involving the fall out from Gonzo-gate, now focusing on his aide, Monica Goodling; Republican women in politics are getting a black eye.
Monica Goodling, who worked in the Justice Department for the last five years, submitted a letter of resignation effective April 7 when Gonzo-gate heated up. Rather than testifying, she claimed her 5th Amendment privilege.
That bought her free pass along with a subpoena. Her performance before the Senate committee made every woman who has ever fought for a decent professional position wince; “What on earth is a silly girl-child doing in such an important job?”
In spite of all the scandals of the Bushie women, it is of great comfort to note that for the first time the Speaker of the House is a woman, Nancy Pelosi; decidedly NOT part of the Bush administration but still taking a lot of heat.
In the Senate, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein chair important committees and other women are rising up the ladder of leadership. Hillary Clinton, as we all know is a front runner in the presidential race.
Despite the efforts of women in the Democratic leadership, the media is screaming that the Dems caved in to Bush and broke their promise to the electorate that they would end the Iraq occupation.

GAS BAG PASSES
For many years Jerry Falwell has told us that all the bad storms or wars or pestilence or whatever indicates that God is pissed off at gays, feminists, lesbians and assorted other scape-goats like Twinkie Winkie of the Teletubbys. [scape·goat(skpgt) n.

His favorite hatred focal point was Hillary and Bill Clinton and he railed against them endlessly [The Clinton Chronicles]. Murderers, he called them among other things, as he urgently demanded that God send his thunderbolts down upon them. His venom and accusations are still brandished about by the rightwing shock jocks as well as the most rabid leftwing democrats who consider a woman president anathema.
Counting on the massive guilt complex of Christians and near Christians, Falwell enlisted many into his camp and named them The Moral Majority [MM]. They became and still are the Repug base. With his political power increasing, as head of the MM, Jerry was instrumental in the corruption of politics with religion [and visa versa] – a burden the country still reels under.
The Ronald and the Georges added more fear to the guilt Jerry induced. With those two emotions so dear to the hearts of the Messianic maelstrom, this country’s leadership avowed its reverence for life by condemning women’s reproductive rights as criminal.
Always supporting “the Party of Life”, the MM had no qualms when Bush took the country to an unnecessary war killing and injuring hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi as well as thousands of American and coalition troops.
One thing Jerry lusted for was to be on Earth during the Rapture which he predicted would happen soon. The vision he projected to his flock, that all true believers would join him in being risen up into the heavens, squeezed still more money out of the fearful masses.
Through all the years he exhibited the true sense of American Corporate values, building up massive wealth from the labor and tithe of the poor and vulnerable. Jerry not only missed the Rapture but, if Jesus has been quoted correctly, he has also missed the Kingdom of God:
"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" (Matthew 19:24). #

DOING THE DEVIL’S WORK
One of the most puzzling manifestations of this whole presidential campaign is how there is nearly unanimous agreement among Dems of any stripe that the media is biased, untruthful and creates, rather than reports, facts. And, that it parrots the Repug talking points.
Therefore the paradox is that there are intelligent Dems/Progs/Libs who absolutely believe anything the media puts forth that is detrimental to Senator Clinton. Even when they read it on Drudge or hear it on Fox News, they run breathlessly to repeat the latest allegations and creations on their Lists and Blogs.
There is little disagreement that Hillary became a Gender-Related target for the Rychus Ones when Bill ran for president. She was portrayed as an “unnatural woman” because of her education, her abilities and because she didn’t walk the traditional 3 paces behind her husband.
The Repugs focused on the 19th century psyche of the electorate to create ways to denigrate her. The media followed faithfully portraying her as aloof and stuck-up; the unapproachable ice queen. They attacked Hillary, accusing her of all sorts of crimes, even murder.
When she ran for the N.Y. Senate seat, the Repugs and lap dog media went into overdrive, declaring that there was no way she could win. She not only won, she showed the voters of N.Y. someone they liked. Serving in the Senate, she received accolades from both Repugs and Dem Senators for her hard work and considerable ability.
As more people came to know her and discover that the Repug rantings were lies and falsehoods, support for her presidential candidacy came in from all over the country. That plus her decisive win in N.Y. caused panic in the Devil’s [Karl Rove] conclave which went into overdrive to plan how to defeat her.
Hillary was the one Democratic candidate that the Repugs feared the most and she was the one – a woman - chosen by Chris Matthews to hurl into the pit bull pit of the 10 Repug candidates in their debate.
Bro’s before Ho’s! Of course, that’s the Christian American way.
From their Freepers embedded in Liberal blogs and Lists all over the net and other informers, Devil Karl realized there were Dems out there who were still posting the very propaganda Rovians had put out to defeat her in N.Y. So they intensified their efforts to mislead knowing that they were energizing disgruntled Liberals to work for them.
By using misleading headlines, Rove has provided some Dems with more reasons to turn against Hillary, the one Dem they most fear could win.
How right he is. Without a care for truth, some Dems were and are salivating over the anti-Hillary lies Rove puts out. They joyfully do the Devil’s work by posting them to their Lists and Blogs while bemoaning all the other “lies” of this administration and the media. Can you spell hypocrite?

COLD COMFORT
Women have been enslaved for sexual services seemingly forever and nearly every so-called religion in the world openly frowns on this practice while giving tacit approval sub-rosa. It still remains part of the “spoils of war” and in many cases is government sponsored.
Of course children are victims also and some countries in Asia, for example, depend on the tourist revenue to finance their governments. Here in the land of the vanishing Constitution, it rears its ugly head for a moment when human smuggling rings are busted then is quickly swept under the rug again.
Regulation of women in this country was supposed to have ended but now it seems our human rights are flowing backwards with the latest decision from the Supremes to subject women’s bodies to state control. We’ve come the wrong way, baby.
World news also tends to remind us how women were and are still treated as a commodity to be regulated rather than as human beings:
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Korean, 78, speaks out against Japan's enforced slavery of women in World War II. An estimated 200,000 were forced into sex slavery more than 60 years ago. She's 78 years old, but for Lee Young-soo, life as she knew it ended at age 15 -- when the Japanese government forced her to become a sex slave for its military members during World War II. "I was abducted at age 15 by the Japanese Imperial Army," she said. "I was put on a Japanese naval ship. There were 300 military men there and five girls, including myself."
Japan's leader Shinzo Abe visiting Washington expressed "deep" sympathy to "comfort women" and President Bush calls sex slavery a "regrettable chapter in history of world"
The words of Bush and Abe are cold comfort, for the Comfort Women of WW2, from men who know it is still going on in Iraq. How quiet and unconcerned the media is on the subject.
"This system [Comfort Women] resulted in the largest, most methodical and most deadly mass rape of women in recorded history. Japan's Kem pei tai political police and their collaborators tricked or abducted females as young as eleven years old and imprisoned them in military rape camps known as 'comfort stations,' situated throughout Asia. These 'comfort women' were forced to service as many as fifty Japanese soldiers a day. They were often beaten, starved, and made to endure abortions or injections with sterilizing drugs. The records indicate that by then the Americans had full knowledge of Japan's reported torture of women in countries it invaded across Asia during the war, the records show.

NICE GUYS FINISH LAST

“NICE GUYS FINISH LAST”
Love may be better the second time around but presidential campaigns are not. We were Gored once and even though we can all agree he is a smart man with lots of experience, he has no stomach for a ballot fight.
Both Kerry’s and Gore’s campaigns were just one disaster after another as they dithered and dathered and put us to sleep with rhetoric and bombast. And at the end both John and Al lacked the guts to fight for the victory they had won at the polls.
Both gave practically the same excuse - that it would be harmful for the country to prolong the battle. Early on the signs were there as Al turned his back on President Clinton, supposedly to “be his own man” and had to have a consultant to get him dressed.
Kerry tried to emulate Bush’s productive photo-ops and fell flat on his face. His antics were what made the Swift Boater’s lies believable to many in the country. From his bird hunting costume to wind surfing when he should have been campaigning, he projected the playboy image.
Both have shown where their niche lies and done so admirably. We need Al at the forefront of the environmental movement; we need John in the Senate where he is so affective and so at home.
The country has had enough of nice-guy Democratic losers; you know the type women swoon over and far-Left Wingers believe are the Second Coming. The White House is in need of a good housecleaning; along the lines we have seen when Speaker Nancy Pelosi took charge of the House of Representatives.
We need someone who will be “in it to win it”; someone who is smart and tough and who will fight tooth and nail to the end for the last ballot. We need a strong, intelligent, experienced woman to clean up, not only the White House but our hideous reputation in the world today.
We need a woman because she won’t spend her time dressing up in soldier suits and parading on the decks of battle ships playing sailor boy. Most women put their toys away at adulthood while men never do consistently.
Just let the martial music play and there they are urging one bunch of uniformed hulks to kill the other bunch of uniformed hulks without a thought for anything as long as the beer and franks keep coming.
As many writers have noted before us, “the best man for the job of president is a woman”, and we Democrats have a fighter this time – Hillary Rodham Clinton.

All sorts of reasons are put forth by Democrats concerning why they will not vote for a certain Democratic candidate. Some take their cue from the Republican’s FOX News and Talking Points; others may object to the candidate’s inexperience, color, gender or funding source.
But the most idiotic reason we have heard is that if “another Clinton” is elected that would mean, “Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton. Horrors! A dynasty in the making rather than the democracy we aspire to continue.”
When did it happen that a woman taking her husband’s last name when married [as is customary] make her in his image or blood line? Are we still governed by the Book of Ruth? Did the Constitution not get changed to include women as independent human beings instead of their husband’s chattel?

Hillary Rodham Clinton is NOT of the lineage of William Jefferson Clinton any more than any woman is demoted from human stature at marriage or becomes a descendent of their husband.
Women are more, often much more, than the man they marry, yet when they die they are usually identified in the first paragraph of their obituary as, “the wife of…” Have you seen many males ID’d as “the husband of?”
Liz Daley died at the age of 68. She was a life long LIBERAL writ large. She was long active in Vermont politics recently endorsing Peter Welch for Congress.
She often surprised people with her independence and outspokenness. Marcelle Leahy, who had known Liz since high school said, “She was an energy-giver who exemplified New England stamina and Green Mountain gumption. She worked courageously to help other Vermonters struggling against cancer. She helped make Vermont a better place.”
“She was a strong courageous voice for common sense and independence in the Vermont tradition” declared Vermont Governor Douglas.
During the 2004 campaign, Liz put a Howard Dean for President sign in the front yard. She once described herself as “an opinionated LIBERAL with my mother’s big mouth” unable to keep her views to herself.
She was married for 25 years, except for a hiatus of 8 years, to Senator Jim Jeffords, a life-long Republican. Some may remember how he got a gutful of the present government and finished his term as an Independent, voting with the Democrats.
Liz and Jim had two children. Liz chose to raise them in Vermont, not caring for the kind of society she would have been expected to hob knob with in D.C. as the wife of a Republican legislator.
Liz was always her own person – no more a descendent of Jim’s than he was of hers. Vermont has lost a giant.

ALL ABOUT LIZ
All sorts of reasons are put forth by Democrats concerning why they will not vote for a certain Democratic candidate. Some take their cue from the Republican’s FOX News and Talking Points; others may object to the candidate’s inexperience, color, gender or funding source.
But the most idiotic reason we have heard is that if “another Clinton” is elected that would mean, “Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton. Horrors! A dynasty in the making rather than the democracy we aspire to continue.”
When did it happen that a woman taking her husband’s last name when married [as is customary] make her in his image or blood line? Are we still governed by the Book of Ruth? Did the Constitution not get changed to include women as independent human beings instead of their husband’s chattel?

DEMOCRATS EAT THEIR YOUNG
You don’t have to listen to Fox news and related programs to hear Democratic candidates for president being savaged. Just check out most Democratic Lists and Blogs.
We googled out quite a few internet sites to see how prevalent gnashing their own is because we were gobsmacked when we encountered a particularly disgusting and ignorant offering recently.
We found that no Dem candidate was spared, but the top three, called the front runners, get the most negative attention. It seems that many Dems are incapable of only supporting their own choice but must denigrate other Democratic candidates.
In contrast, aside from a few low key remarks such as commenting on Giuliani’s marriage record, Republicans write positive things about the candidate of their choice and do not trash the others.
John Edwards appeared to have the least ugly things written about him. But there were vile remarks about using his wife’s illness to further his candidacy. In addition, mild disapproval was shown with his attention to his coif – just not the manly thing, ya know.
Barack Obama has his critics that find him inexperienced and pushy. He is faulted for thinking he can replace charm for taking strong political stands; and for stealing his message and funding strategy from former Vermont Governor, Howard Dean.
The most insidious and potentially harmful charges against him backfired on the Democrat who initially presented them to implicate Senator Clinton. However some damage was done to Senator Obama because that Democrat had a connection to his campaign and this stuff gets recycled.
But for shear nastiness, misinformation and ignorance, posts concerning Senator Clinton outweighed the ones against the male candidates. The great majority of them was against her as a woman and contained phrases right out of the late Don Imus Show. HRC was routinely called "evil" and "Satan" by Imus--not in a joking manner. Few if any Democrats protested, instead, many echoed Imus’s sexism and hatred for women on their Lists and Blogs.
Although we found some adult blogs and lists, most seemed populated by juveniles who bombarded any support for Clinton with nasty comments. Overall, pro-Hillary comments were discouraged by this violent response – so much for Democracy!
In this present anti-Imus flap, Imus is attacked for his sexism as well as his racism and we are finally seeing women like NOW President, Kim Gandy on TV. Now if an aroused populace would go after Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Savage, Tucker and all the other hate mongers spreading sexism and racism.
The post that led us to check out more occurrences of Dems eating their own sadly originated from a woman. It exemplifies the reasons why most men were against the idea of women voting – that they weren’t intelligent enough, too flighty, and too emotional to gage a person’s qualifications. Her post instructed on what you, like her, should base your vote, she urged you:
-- to watch Hillary and note that she “still looks self-centered and without empathy”. Whereas, if you meet Obama “you feel you have known him since the beginning of time”. HONOR OUR FOREMOTHERS
Who should women vote for? The answer is: ANYONE THEY WANT TO. But it is important that all women pay homage to the sacrifice of the many women who made the advances of women toward equality possible.
That means that American voters must support Senator Clinton’s run for office by insisting that she be treated as they themselves would want to be treated. Women especially should insist on fairness for the woman who is breaking a barrier for all of us. No special favors requested – just an even playing field.
Women are sexually and religiously humiliated all over the world and in many cases other women condone this or even defend this as “customary”.
We all know that politics manifest as word-wars. It seems permission is given by the electorate to attack one’s political opponent any which way they choose. Truth need not be a factor of an attack.
Nevertheless, Americans still have a modicum of fairness left and it is to this that we appeal. Is it fair that one candidate is slurred because of her gender while another is protected from slurs by our society?
We are all familiar with the highly derogatory words, sexual overtones and phrases used over the eons that derogate women. This has reached a crescendo over the candidacy of Senator Hillary Clinton. The major agenda of these “Swiftboat-like” tactics is to prevent a woman presidency by appealing to the macho with salacious descriptions, lies and innuendo.
The Repug campaign is never alone in their use and abuse. Pundits gleefully jump on board along with Talkers and some Bloggers to incessantly drag any woman through the mud with the tried and true slurs aimed to frighten off possible voters.
It’s not just here that it happens. If you are old enough to remember how former P.M. Margaret Thatcher of Great Britain was chewed up over the years you know how vicious and blatant the sexism can be.
Now imagine that the pundits, media and Blogs went after Barac for his racial characteristics? Hey, don’t scream, it used to be customary! Some very horrible things have been said and believed about Blacks throughout history. These have been given life in films, in books and in present day rap lyrics. It wasn’t right then and it isn’t right now!
Actually, some Bloggers have ventured into the realm of tit for tat – ie, if you are going to play the sexist game, we will play the racist game. But listen to the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the media rushing to scream racism as they ignore and contribute to sexism!
“It’s not the same thing”, they scream in fury, “it’s customary to say these nasty things about women, and it’s customary to use words with a sexual reference that are derogatory and humiliating to women.
Yeah, it’s customary all right. We women hear, see and experience it everyday. Sad to say many of us put up with it thus encouraging even more sexist slurs. Even now there are those women creaming for a blonde whiteboy or a brunette blackboy [oops, can’t say “blackboy”, can we?] instead of standing up for a woman candidate with the courage to stand up for them.
Most of the reasons women have for disliking Senator Clinton comes from the right wing propaganda machine Talking Points [repeated endlessly by the media] that have been feeding lies about her since Bill Clinton ran for president.
Ask yourself, “Why is it that you know Repugs for the liars they are yet find all their propaganda relating to Hillary Clinton is true?” And check out what honorable, honest people like Representative Charlie Rangel, who really know Hillary, have to say.
Our Foremothers fought for the abolition of slavery. Our Foremothers fought for the right of Blacks to vote. As a result of their fight, Black MEN were allowed to vote.
Women kept on fighting until ALL women were given the right to vote. It’s time all women think about the sacrifices made for them by their foremothers and fight for the right for themselves and their daughters to be protected from sexual slurs just as Blacks are protected now from racial slurs.

A PRESIDENTIAL POLL
X- Tubule ran an exhaustive survey of billions of American voters asking them what they were looking for in a woman president and what influenced their opinion. Here are the results in order of magnitude of the first 5.
Wanted – the perfect woman. She must be hot with huge breasts and Lana Turner legs. She must have a body to die for and a brain the size of a pea. Must wear a bikini at her inauguration or be naked.
Opinion was influenced by: TV and how my favorite movie stars look. Also from Hillary hater Tucker and Hard Balls Matthews’ fan clubs because Tuck and Chris constantly put forth this idea of the ideal female Chief Ex.

She must be a looker. No dog, ya know, since we’ll have to see her a lot on TV. Even a stud like ‘W’ got hard to look at after awhile with those beady little eyes and itchy nose sniffing.
Opinion influenced by: Watching those beautiful beasts on the wrestling shows - and all the girly-fluff that surrounds them; NASCAR attitudes; FOX Vixens and most of the Snuff films that pass themselves off as crime shows .

First off, a woman president should be a great cook and she must know how to sew or knit. She’ll be present in a lot of meetings with the men who are running the country and she needs to have something to do while they talk. Also, she should always bring home-cooked snacks for them.

She must be God-fearing, that is she must know her place. She should arrange for daily religious services to be held all over the White House, the Senate and House of Representatives. She must keep the White House spotless and always obey her husband.
